Sunset Sessions Cairns Cruise

There’s something magical about music and movement meeting the golden hour. Last weekend, I had the chance to shoot the Sunset Sessions Cruise in Cairns – and it was nothing short of electric.

As the boat pulled away from the Cairns Marina and cruised slowly through the inlet, the sky put on its own performance. Soft amber tones lit up the deck, silhouettes danced against the setting sun, and a DJ layered tropical house beats into the breeze.

From a photographer’s standpoint, it’s a dream:
Natural golden-hour lighting bouncing off faces, glasses, and rippling water.
Motion + music creating a dynamic, ever-changing energy on board.

Stunning backdrops, from mangrove-lined shores to fiery skies over the Coral Sea.

I focused on capturing movement – laughter mid-frame, hair caught in the wind, hands in the air as the bass dropped. The crowd was vibrant, dressed for the occasion, with a mix of locals and visitors just there to let go and enjoy the ride.
